Tsangyang  Gyatso,  whose  full  name  was  Tshangs-dbyangs-rgya-mtsho1,  was regarded as the sixth Dalai Lama2 in Tibetan history. He was born into a poor family of  the  Moinba  nationality  (Monpa)3 and  his  family  followed  the  Nyingma  School (Red  Sect)4 of  Buddhism  from  generation  to  generation.  Tsangyang  Gyatso  who  was  intelligent and talented since childhood was recognized as the reincarnation of the 5th Dalai  Lama  by  the  Tibetan  regent  Desi  Sangye  Gyatso5  in  1697  and  then  he  held  a sitting-in-bed  ceremony6  at  the  Potala  Palace  in  the  same  year.  He  was  abolished  in 1705 and passed away on the escort way in 1706.  Tsangyang  Gyatso,  was  not  only  considered  as  the  Tibetan  leader  both  in  the political and religious sense, but also identified as a talented and famous national poet in  Tibet.  He  wrote  a  total  of  66  poems7  and  these  poems  were  called  Tsangyang Gyatso’s poems. Having spread for more than three hundred years, his poems are still unfading  even  today  owing  to  the  distinctive  features  which  are  embodied  with beautiful and graceful diction, simple and vivid expression and sincere and passionate feelings.  “The  6th  Dalai  Lama  composed  poems  and  songs  that  are  not  only  still immensely  popular  in  modern-day  Tibet  but  have  also  gained  significant  popularity all  across China.”8 It  is  safe  to  say  that  Tsangyang  Gyatso’s  Poetry  is  not  only  the great  cultural  treasure  in  China’s  literature  field,  but  also  the  appealing  unique splendor  in  the  world  literature  history.  With  the  expanded  influence  and  numerous research,  it  has  increasingly  drawn  attention  from  a  number  of  experts  and  scholars both at home and abroad.
First  of  all,  one  point  that  should  be  mentioned  is  the  political  environment  of Tibet  in  which  the  poet  lived,  which  also  had  a  far-reaching  impact  on  his  life  and writing.  At  that  time,  there  was  a  long-standing  and  irreconcilable  political  conflict between  the  Tibetan  authorities,  namely,  Sangye  Gyatso  and  Lha-bzang  Khan9,  and the  political  environment  in  Tibet  was  extremely  complicated  and  tense.  “After  the news that the Dalai Lama V has died was uncovered, the dictatori
